Personality: Humans make up the majority of the surface population of the Kingdoms of the West and they claim the land for themselves. Although the Humans half-heartedly respect the Albish claim that they were the original inhabitants of Lhân, they thoroughly disrespect the Gharyak's claim to their lands. Humans guard their land fiercely and they usually go to great lengths in order to defend it. Moreover, Humans "keep going", despite the odds - when something gets destroyed Humans usually rebuild it and try again.

Appearance: All northern humans have fair skin although their hair- and eye-colors vary. Cambrians can have all hair-colors, although most of them have brown hair. Their eyes are usually blue or grey. Nethiani have slightly darker skin than Cambriani and their hair is commonly brown or black. Their eyes are mostly brown or black, although some have grey eyes. The Maelvili are similar to the Cambriani and they have brown or blond hair with grey, blue or green eyes. Tyari are commonly fair-skinned with predominantly blonde hair tones, although red hair is not uncommon in Cirdhulan. The Tyrfingers (the citizans of the city Tyrf) usually have black hair. Typical Tyari eye colors are either blue or green. Again the Tyrfingers are the exception for their eyes are commonly grey. The Sijaali are smaller than the typical Human and their skin is darker than even the skin of the Nethiahni, almost olive. Their eyes are usually hazel or black and they show traces of epicanthtic folds over their eyes. The Jharkori are similar to the Sijaali, although their skin is lighter their eyes betray their southern heritage; they are almost ivariably black. Their hair can range from bluish-black to dark brown and sometimes shows streaks of red.

Relations: Apart from their somewhat arrogant claims to the land, Humans manage to adapt to almost all situations and societies and thus they can manage to get along with all races, with the exception of those races they are currently at war with.

Alignment: Humans can be of any alignment, but tend towards neutral or lawful behavior.

Human Lands: The lands settled by Humans are generally shunned by Non-humans as they have a hard time of getting accepted in Human lands. Even if they are tolerated, they are usually not fully integrated into human society until a long time has passed.

The Cambrians are a proud people who have settled the region south of the Borderwall despite constant Gharyak threat. They are a friendly and helpful people, although the northern Cambrians have become careful and distrustful in the wake of the events of the recent Borderwar with Eleiran. The people of Nethiah are hot-blooded and quick tempered, although even bigger than their tempers is their love for food, feast and dance. Maelvili are slow to anger, but if they are angered they have a hard time to cool down. The Maelvili live in clans and all their activities are centered around the clan. They are friendly to outsiders and welcome them in their territories, but distrust members of another clan. The Tyari of Cirdhulan are a typical northern people, brooding, gruff and vengeful. Just like their ancient gods, they delight in the wonders of nature, the clash of arms and the taste of fresh beer. The Sijaali are tend to be smaller and not as strongly built as northern Humans, relaying more on their mental than on physical prowess. Many Sijaalians are skilled in the mystic arts and the best lorists of Lhân come from Sijaal. Jharkori are a people who have lived by the sword since the beginning of their realm. Valour and a rigid code of honor are central to their society and many Jharkorian virtues are reflected in the philosophies of the Jharkorian Swordslinger Masters who live by this Way of the Sword.

Religion: Human religion is diverse. The Human religion with the greatest following is the Messianic Faith, which is state religion in Cambria and has replaced the belief in the Old Gods (nature gods: Narwain, Lhûg, Albion, Lhirr, Hôrn and some lesser gods). The Maelvili believe that elemental spirits rule their land, a belief that has also some followers under the Tyari of Cirdhulan, although the Messianic Faith is slowly gaining followers in the northern cities. The Faith has also spread to Sijaal and Jharkor, but a majority of the southerners still clings to their ancient pantheons of warrior, light and darkness gods (Mithras, Omahn, Erlikh, the main gods of the Jharkorian pantheon) and thematic temple gods (Ijshtar and Arkhema of the Red Temple and Chorrys and Eîs of the Black Temple as well as a host of minor cults in Sijaal).

Language: Almost all Humans can speak the common tongue Gælen, and all are fluent in their native dialects. Most humans also speak the tongue of surrounding areas and some even speak a Non-Human tongue. Scholars might also be fluent in ancient tongues and the priests of the Messianic Faith are all fluent in Thulaan, an ancient language used in the rituals of the Church.

EBoN Names: refer to the EBoN for Lamaar document when using the Everchanging Book of Names for Lamaarian characters.

  • Racial Stat Bonus: Humans receive no Ability bonuses nor are Abilities penalized; however if a character belongs to a special human nationality his Ability rolls during character creation are assigned in a special manner. This assumes that the DM uses a "roll-and-assign-later-as-you-see-fit" method of Ability generaion. After the player has rolled all six Ability scores, he assigns them so that the highest score goes to the Primary Ability of his chosen nationality, the second highest goes to the Secondary and the third highest to the Tertiary. All other rolls can be distributed as the player wishes.
