The Dwarven Slayer is a dwarven killing machine, the elite
fighters of dwarvish society. Living deep underground in
their extensively labyrinthian chthonian kingdoms, the dwarves
of Lamaar are scattered along the eastern borders of the
kingdoms of the West, having settled in the steep slopes
that divide Maelvil from the Darklands and Lharzha, right
down to the mounaineous regions of the Badlands – the dwarves
are the first and best line of defense from the goblinoid
incursions that haunt those forlorn lands in the watershed
between the Kingdoms of the West and the Realms of the East.
The Dwarven Slayer is an accomplished fighter, he has excelled
in the mass slaughters against marauding goblinoids and
he has left those battles with the corpses piled high around
him. A master of the gruesome dwarvish weapons, the waraxe
and urgrosh, he is almost exclusively a fighter by profession,
although some barbarian berserkers of the wild dwarvish
tribes of the Badlands can be found amongst the elite ranks
of the Dwarven Slayers.
Dwarven Slayers are easily recognizable by their spiky
hair that they commonly dye orange or blood-red. They tend
to be broody and often resopond violently to distractions;
dealing with (and out) death so often has made them an insociable
folk. They prefer chainmail or the boiled hides of slain
foes as their type of armour. They like displaying their
heavily tattooed arms, regarding their tattoos as lucky
charms and wards against magic. Often Dwarven Slayers begin
tattooing their face, too. Some Loremasters believe that
the Dwarven Slayers are correct in believing in the magical
power of their tattoos; they think that the Slayers are
granted their Special Abilities through these tattoos.

Any time a Dwarven Slayer is granted
a new Special Ability they also receive a new tattoo (or
in the case of an improved Spcial Ability like Damage Reduction
or Counterattack) the old tattoo that represents this Special
Ability is overworked and gets additional detail.
The Special Abilities of a Dwarven
Slayer are:
Damage Reduction: as per Dwarven Defender
Special Ability Damage Reduction.
Counterattack: The character can immediately
attack an attacker after he is attacked by him. This is
a free Action. The character can counterattack as many attacks
per round as the number in brackets indicates. The counterattack
is executed on the same Initative Rank as the attack on
the dwarf, but it connects after the initial attack.
Critical Strike: Due to his extensive
fights against especially the dark races, the Dwarven Slayer
has extensive knowledge in the anatomy of his enemies and
he knows where he must strike in order to do the most damage.
Critical Strike is in effect a limited version of the Improved
Critical Strike Feat that works only on the specified monster-species
(Khurrn, Gharyak, Oorsch) and it doubles the threat range
for critical strikes against this type of monster only.
If the character also possesses the Improved Critical Strike
Feat, the threat range against this type of monster is quadrupled.
Defensive Awareness: as per Dwarven
Defender Special Ability Defensive Awareness.
